Info

At the time of writing Up and Running is using a Homesite editing suite. Most of the DHTML in use is written in Javascript and/or PHP. E-mail & Form links on sites are written with spam filters as standard to prevent spammers using mass mailing techniques on the server-side mailing scripts.

Database work is carried out using the server-side language PHP with Mysql. Hosting companies are sourced that will provide a reliable database service at an affordable price to the client. Generally databases are needed if you are looking for a more dynamic and user interactive site such as found in e-commerce and/or content management sites that have certain user priviledges - for example a login / logout system where the owner can edit his own content.

We try wherever possible to find the most cost-effective solution to clients requirements. However it is recommended that clients opt for a commercial web hosting package as opposed to any free webspace they may have on offer from their current ISP. Invariably there are hidden complication (ie advertising, domain issues etc) which make the choice of a "Free" webspace a false economy.

Word documents can be transcribed as required into Acrobat Reader pdf format by using PDF factory software. This feature can multiply your document storage options.

There is no advertising on any of our sites except for a small link to this site. However this is not a requirement.
