Give your site that personal touch
Although it's a good design rule to keep your site menu and structure as simple and streamlined as possible it does no harm to include into your website some inviting images and text. This might encourage your visitor to consider your site in a more sympathetic light as well as linger a little longer over what you have to say. With this in mind I have included two oil paintings by the Scottish artist Jean Feeney and a poem from the American poet Robinson Jeffers.
There is also some attractively presented information on the annual poetry and creative writing workshop run by Wild Tiles' Jan Kilpatrick on the Summer Isles. (see full link below)

Natural Music
The old voice of the ocean, the bird chatter of little rivers,
(Winter has given them gold for silver
To stain their water and bladed green fro brown to line their banks)
From different throats intone one language.
So I believe if we are strong enough to listen without
Divisions of desire and terror
To the storm of the sick nations, the rage of the hunger-smitten cities,
Those voices also would be found
Clean as a child's; or like some girl's breathing who dances alone
By the ocean shore, dreaming of lovers.

Every June - A week of paper making, print making, collage and poetry writing course on the Summer Isles largest Island - Tanera Mhor.
Tanera Mhor is a superb setting for this most unusual summer school. You will spend a week far away from everyday concerns - there are no roads, shops or television on the island - immersing yourself in the creative process! By way of a series of practical sessions, interspersed with private time for contemplation, you will progress through all the stages involved in producing a hand-bound, illustrated journal, recording your experiences on Tanera Mhor.
